About Foveas

Foveas was started in December 2006 in Madrid, Spain. We are people passionate about filmmaking. In 2005 we began shooting taking advantage of the new HDV formats. Later, we started to film with the 35mm adapters that you can find nowadays without pain out there in the market.

But time for motion came, we had to fully control our rigs based on the 35mm adapters and prime/SLR lenses. We needed to mount on board wireless receivers for audio and a stabilizer strong enough to hold the rig. The only thing left were the remote control of focus for our SLR lenses, but the least expensive solution by Dec. 2006 was around $4000. We contacted several manufacturers to ask about the release of an inexpensive solution, but all we had were vague responses. So we had two choices: wait until someone released the device we needed or just try to make it.

We stopped our current feature film production and got to work. We targeted a device with a sale price around a thousand euro. We are glad that this decision is speeding up all the companies that we will se in the future unveiling affordable remote controls, but we will be proud to say also that our small development group were the first to take to the public an affordable wireless solution for remote focusing with 35mm adapters.

We are now ready to continue shooting our feature film and besides, we can offer all of you people a high end yet an affordable device offering you the highest standards in precision and ease of use.
